The P12 PWM PST is a good, solid built fan. With only five blades I am confident that it will run quieter than those with seven or more blades. Of course, this will depend on the speeds. The fan is perfect for the “no frills” people.
How does PWM PST work?
Arctic’s PWM case fans are a little different to normal PWM fans. This is thanks to the patented PST (PWM Sharing Technology). The PST feature allows up to five of these fans to be daisy chained together, meaning the motherboard can power and regulate all five fans from one PWM fan header from the motherboard.

How does PST lower temperatures? Fans using the PWM feature operate with only the necessary speed to enable maximum cooling at the lowest noise level. The speed of all the fans in this PST system is then centrally controlled by a single PWM signal via BIOS.
What is the difference between PWM and PST?
The PWM fans are what’s needed for a 4-pin header like the one for your CPU fan. PST allows you to chain PWM fans from the same 4-pin PWM header. The fixed speed fans aren’t actually fixed speed as these can still have their RPM controlled on nearly all motherboards via a standard 3-pin fan header.
