We have no plans to end subscription support for previous inReach products. All of our hardware devices come with documented warranty claims so I would defer to those for how long they will be honored.
How do I track an inReach device?
Locating an InReach device is as easy as hitting this magic button.
- Goto the MapShare webpage for the InReach user (the URL from the last section).
- Hit the “Locate” button.
- Wait about 5-20 minutes.
- Refresh/reload the web page until the position on the map is updated.
- You can click on the position icon for details.
Does inReach Mini have GPS?
The inReach Mini has an onboard GPS receiver, and from that, you can perform some basic navigation features. It really needs to be paired with the Earthmate app to do anything meaningful though.
Does tracking on inReach cost money?
Since they are transmitted from your InReach in the backcountry via the Iridium satellites they cost you. The subscription plans have options that offer no included tracking points on the lowest cost plan (so you pay 10 cents for each one sent) to unlimited tracking points included with higher priced plans.
