Remove the dipstick cap by turning counter-clockwise and then wipe it down with a clean rag to ensure an accurate reading. Reinsert the dipstick by applying pressure and turning clockwise before removing it again and taking a reading. The oil level should be between the Full and Add indicators.

Reinstall the oil drain plug and remove the oil dipstick. Place the funnel into the dipstick hole. Pour 1 1/2 quarts of oil into the engine and check the level with the dipstick. Add more oil until the dipstick reads “full.” Install the dipstick and wipe off any residual oil.
