How difficult is WSET Level 1?
You’ll need to score a minimum of 70% to pass the exam but you don’t need to concern yourself with that since you’re aiming for +90% anyway. The WSET 1 is also a closed-book exam, so don’t dare take your textbook, study notes, or crib notes into the venue. That will not end well for you.

WSET is great for learners who like the structure of a formal class with time in between to absorb and reflect. CMS requires students to pass each course before moving to the next.
Is the WSET Level 2 hard?
Thankfully, WSET Level 2’s test is not the most difficult style of exam out there. There is no tasting component (much to Angie’s delight, that comes in Level 3) and many of the multiple-choice questions can be figured out through critical thinking if you can apply logic based on what you’ve learned in the course.

This is a purely academic program but it’s really designed for those who want to start learning the basics of wine. You don’t have to start at Level 1 or 2 though and can take a test to start at Level 3.
