Fuzeon is a prescription medicine used to treat the symptoms of HIV Infection. Fuzeon may be used alone or with other medications. Fuzeon belongs to a class of drugs called HIV, Fusion Inhibitors.
How to administer FUZEON?
FUZEON is administered subcutaneously into the upper arm, anterior thigh or abdomen after reconstituting the lyophilized powder containing 108 mg enfuvirtide with 1 mL of Sterile Water for Injection [see Dosage and Administration (2.5)].
How do you give enfuvirtide?
You can inject enfuvirtide anywhere on the front of your thighs, your stomach, or upper arms. Do not inject enfuvirtide in or near your navel (belly button) or in any area directly under a belt or waistband; near the elbow, knee, groin, the lower or inner buttocks; or directly over a blood vessel.
When should I take FUZEON?
FUZEON is always used with other anti-HIV medicines to treat adults and children ages 6 years and older with HIV infection. FUZEON blocks HIV’s ability to infect healthy CD4 cells. When used with other anti-HIV medicines, FUZEON can reduce the amount of HIV in the blood and increase the number of CD4 cells.

Patients are more likely to get bacterial pneumonia if they had a low number of CD4 cells, increased amount of HIV in the blood, intravenous (injected into the vein) drug use, smoking or had experienced lung disease in the past. It is unclear if pneumonia is related to FUZEON. FUZEON can cause serious allergic reactions.
