Is the a-4010s reel-to-reel?
The A-4010S deck has an extra playback head for automatic reverse play, eliminating the need to turn the tape over when the end of the reel is reached. This is the only reel-to-reel I’ve had, but at 7 1/2 ips I can’t hear any unpleasing difference from source and tape.
When did the a-4010sl come out?
As often with Teac, available in quite a few versions : from the 1966 A-4000 and A-4000S, the A-4010, the A-4010S ( 1967) and the ultimate A-4010GSL in 1973. I believe the A-4010SL to have been export-only (but I could be wrong.)
