What is a TX19 clearance certificate?
A clearance certificate certifies that all amounts for which the deceased is liable to the CRA have been paid, or that security for the payment has been accepted. A certificate covers all tax years to the date of death. It is not a clearance for any amounts a trust owes.
How long does it take to get a clearance certificate from CRA?
The CRA will send you an acknowledgement letter within 30 days of receiving your request for a clearance certificate. The CRA’s assessment can take up to 120 days, assuming you provide all of the necessary documents.
