Overview. Half Life 2 Roleplay (HL2RP for short), is a serious roleplaying gamemode for Garry’s Mod that is set in the universe of Half Life 2. There are a few different versions of HL2RP, but the most popular is the premium licensed gamemode Clockwork: HL2RP by Cloud Sixteen.

Why do the combine wear masks?
Civil Protection is the Combine’s law enforcement agency on Earth, consisting of humans who have agreed to work on behalf of the Combine. Also referred to as metrocops, Civil Protection units wear light armor and gas masks, which heavily resemble a somewhat modified Soviet PMG mask.
Are Combine guards human?
The Combine Guard, is a part-human, part-Synth enemyand boss cut from Half-Life 2, and the direct successor of the Combine Synth Elite Soldier which the Strider (Warp Cannon), Overwatch Elite and Dog also stems from.
Is the Combine defeated?
The Combine reserves in the city were defeated in open battle by the Resistance or led away by Alyx and Freeman. They and Calhoun escorted the last of the citizens to the final trains of refugees evacuating the city.

Combine Soldiers are humans that have undergone extensive modifications including, but not limited to, brain and chest surgery, removal of genitalia, and implantation of various mechanical devices in the throat and around the abdomen. This procedure is carried out at Nova Prospekt and the Citadel.
