How to install Kontakt library?

Log in or create an account with Native Instruments by going to https://www.native-instruments.com/en/and clicking the “user” icon.

  • Once logged in,click “My product and serials”
  • Scroll to the section of the page that says “UPDATES,DRIVERS AND OTHER DOWNLOADS”,click “LEGACY UPDATES”
  • In the search bar,type “kontakt 5.6”
  • Click “KONTAKT 5.6 Update” for Win or Mac. Note: If this is your first time using the Kontakt interface,you will need to download the Kontakt 5.3 version before
  • Once the file is downloaded,follow the Kontakt installation instructions.
  • Open Kontakt 5.6
  • Install your custom,unregistered Kontakt 6 library (located under the libraries tab)
  • Locate and select the instrument library,click “Open”. If successful,your custom sample library will appear in your library. However,the sample library will not open in Kontakt 5.
  • Open Kontakt 6 or higher to use your custom Kontakt 6 library. When you open Kontakt 6,your new sample library should appear in your library window.
  • Do you use Kontakt’s Factory Library at all?

    Adopt the Kontakt Factory Library as a place to store all your other libraries. The Factory Library comes with Kontakt and you should have it if you elected to add it when you installed the program. If you don’t have the Factory Library, you can go back and install it separately.
