What is LTE RAB?
What is LTE RAB?
RAB stands for Radio Access Bearer. AS entity provides NAS to take care of information transfer between UE and Core Network(CN). This is known as RAB. Figure-2 depicts RAB across the UMTS system end to end from UE(i.e. mobile) to MSC/SGSN.
What is e-Rab drop rate?
The E-RAB ID parameter is used to determine the ERAB on the S1 interface. In this paper, ERAP and parameters related to the Handover are improved by proposed solutions of the results. As a result of downlink and uplink, ERAB Call Drop Rate is 0.05 and 72.41, respectively.
What is E-RAB ID?
The E-RAB-ID IE uniquely identifies a radio access bearer for a particular UE, which makes the E-RAB ID unique over one S1 connection. The E-RAB ID shall remain the same for the duration of the E-RAB even if the UE-associated logical S1-connection is released or moved using S1 handover.
What is e-Rab in 5G?
EPS Radio Access Bearer. An E-RAB (E-UTRAN Radio Access Bearer) refers to the concatenation of an S1 bearer and the corresponding radio bearer. When an E-RAB exists, there is a one-to-one mapping between this E-RAB and an EPS bearer of the Non Access Stratum.
What is Rab and RRC?
Sending requests and receipts is part of signaling, or the RRC. The shipment of purchases is the data part, or the RAB. In our scenario, the RRC are the Rails, and RAB is the full service of sending data between the UE and the CN. RRC: Radio Resource Control. RAB: Radio Access Bearer.
What is difference between radio bearer and EPS bearer?
EPS bearer or with long name Evolved Packet System bearer, provides user plane IP connectivity between UE and PGW. Radio bearer: transports the packets of an EPS bearer between UE and eNodeB. S1 bearer: transports the packets of an EPS bearer between an eNodeB and SGW.
What is X2 handover?
Intra-LTE (Intra-MME/SGW) handover using the X2 interface is used to handover a UE from a source eNodeB (S-eNB) to a target eNodeB (T-eNB) using the X2 interface when the Mobility Management Entity (MME) and Serving Gateway (SGW) are unchanged.
What is S1 mode in LTE?
LTE S1-UP (user plane) The S1 user plane external interface (S1-U) is defined between the LTE eNodeB and the LTE S-GW. The S1-U interface provides non guaranteed data delivery of LTE user plane Protocol Data Units (PDUs) between the eNodeB and the S-GW. Transport network layer is built on IP transport and GTP-U.
How many LTE bearers are there?
The maximum of 11 still holds in 4G/LTE networks. Figure 1 shows the relationship between bearers and P-GWs.
What is Gummei?
The GUTI (Globally Unique Temporary Identity) has two main components, the GUMMEI (Globally Unique MME Identifier) that uniquely identifies the MME that allocated the GUTI and the M-TMSI (M-Temporary Mobile Subscriber Identity) that provides for an unambiguous identity of the UE within this MME.
What are radio bearers in LTE?
Bearer is just a virtual concept. It defines how the UE data/signaling are treated when it travels across the network. Network might treat some data in a special way and treat others normally.
What is radio bearer in LTE?
The air connectivity between UE and eNB is referred as radio bearer. An E-RAB is generated from a combination of radio bearer and S1 bearer. LTE Bearer Types: 3GPP reference TS 36.300
What is the E-Rab ID value?
The E-RAB ID value used at S1 and X2 interfaces to identify an E-RAB is the same as the EPS Bearer ID value used to identify the associated EPS Bearer. The description is perfect and well structured, as always. Keep up the good work!
What is an E-UTRAN E-Rab?
An E-UTRAN radio access bearer (E-RAB) uniquely identifies the concatenation of an S1 bearer and the corresponding DRB. When an E-RAB exists, there is a one-to-one mapping between this E-RAB and an EPS bearer of the NAS. To establish, modify, or release DRBs, the E-UTRAN applies the RRC connection reconfiguration procedure. Table 5.2.
What is the difference between DRB and E-Rab?
A DRB transports the packets of an EPS bearer between a UE and the eNB. When a DRB exists, there is a one-to-one mapping between this DRB and the EPS bearer/E-RAB. An S1 bearer transports the packets of an E-RAB between an eNB and an S-GW. An S5/S8 bearer transports the packets of an EPS bearer between an S-GW and a P-GW.
