ESP stands for Electronic Stability Programme, and is designed to improve car stability when driving on problematic surfaces. This light may turn on when driving in adverse conditions. If the warning light is flashing, that means the ESP traction control is working, and you will feel more grip within your wheels.

How common are ABS / ESP sensor faults in 407’s?
So, to the point of my post. I have noticed through a quick scan of this and other forums that abs / esp sensor faults are fairly common in 407’s and even 307’s. By itself this is annoying at best but downright dangerous at worst, especially if the driver of the car has no experience of non abs cars or the use of cadence braking.
Does my 2005 Peugeot 407 have ABS\\ESP?
I bought my 2005 407 2.0 HDi 136 SW (39k miles, full dealer service history) from a Peugeot dealer last week. It too has the ABS\\ESP warning message which the dealer mentioned just before I took it out for a spin.
What does the p code mean on the ABS light?
Any help or suggestions will be very much appreciated. If the abs/traction lights are showing, there must be some fault logged in the system , even if the problem is intermittent. āPā codes are for Powertrain engine/ transmission. Perhaps you need a more in depth investigation with different diagnostic kit.
Is there a product recall for this fault with Peugeot?
If this fault had appeared on a german mark of car you can bet there would be a product recall but with Peugeot we are expected to pay exorbitant amounts of cash to fix the fault… maybe. I would like anyone who has experienced this or a similar fault to post on this thread.
