The most commonly used plywood for boat flooring is marine plywood. Another option is pressure treated plywood. There are also some preventative measures to take to protect and prolong plywood flooring.
How do you fix a rotted stringer on a boat?

- Drill a pattern of 3/16″ diameter holes over the rotted area.
- Dry the area thoroughly.
- Inject or pour resin/hardener mixture into the holes while the core is warm.
- Continue to add epoxy to the holes until the wood can no longer absorb more.

It’s very easy to put a new floor in most aluminum boats, so the down side of a low cost job not holding up long enough and needing to be done again isn’t as critical as on a fiber glass boat. Cheap exterior plywood and some kind of deck or porch paint for wood will hold up for several years and just use some sand as a non skid finish.

Re: floor Materials for Aluminum boat Forget the MDO and HDO,,, unless you want particle board in your boat MDO plywood features a surface layer of medium density fiber, much like MDF. HDO plywood is much like MDO plywood, except that the density of the fiber surface layer is much greater.
Can I use polyurethane sealant on an aluminum boat?
Do not use PT anywhere near an aluminum boat. Corrosion will occur. I used exterior grade sealed with epoxy resin for my deck. Marine grade is a superior product but costs a lot more. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than I will chime in about MDO and HDO.
