When was the 3rd impact?
Third Impact occurs during the climax of The End of Evangelion. At the beginning of Episode 26′, the Mass Produced Evangelions capture Shinji along with Eva-01.
Who started the third impact?
The Event. In Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance, Shinji inadvertently initiates Third Impact during his fight with the 10th Angel. Having learned that Rei had been assimilated by the Angel, Shinji became determined to rescue her, no matter the cost.
