Microscale makes great decals, but they can be tricky at times to apply. I don’t use any of the decal solutions until the decal is in place and dry. For me, distilled water works better at floating the decal into place. I have never had a Microscale decal disintegrate since I stopped using Microset to float the decal.
How long should decals dry before clear coat?
I usually wait about 24 hours. Sometimes I will go longer but never more than 72 hours because by that time you will most likely be handling the model. Ditto at least 24 hrs before dull coating or other clear coating, so all the micro amounts of moisture can evaporate.

Micro Sol, if used correctly, solves these problems and can create spectacular results not otherwise possible. I apply the setting solution with a small, soft paintbrush after the decal has been positioned properly and has been given several minutes to dry on the painted surface. If the decals are thick, multiple applications may be necessary.
