An early morning fire left a beloved Northern Kentucky restaurant with substantial damages on Friday. Heavy flames were seen coming from the roof of the Colonial Cottage restaurant on Dixie Highway at about 3:15 a.m. The restaurant, owned by Matt and Noelle Grimes, has been operating since 1933.

A popular Northern Kentucky breakfast spot caught fire overnight. Erlanger’s Colonial Cottage, located in the 3100 block of Dixie Highway, caught fire around 3:15 a.m. Friday. No one was inside of the building at the time. Officials on the scene said the fire appears to have started just above the kitchen area.
