That’s the good news. The unfortunate news is that we are in a heavy recovery stage as demand has outstripped our supply. We are out of stock on most of our products. We know our customers depend on Yakima products all the time so as the economy begins to recover so do we but we need a moment to catch our breath.

How much weight can Yakima bars hold?
Our maximum static weight rating is 600 lbs. For custom and unlisted vehicles it is up to the installer to determine the maximum weight for the given application. The dynamic load for the bars should not exceed 165lbs.

Yakima’s RoundBars are made from vinyl coated galvanized roll-formed steel, ensuring strength and longevity.
Can Yakima HD bars be cut to length?
Yakima’s Core Bar roof rack crossbars # Y00421 can be cut to a specific length so long as you can make clean square cuts to allow re-installation of the bar end caps. You will probably also need to file the cuts to make them smooth and safe for handling.
Can Yakima JetStream bars be cut down?
We do not recommend cutting down the Core or JetStream bars because of the way the material is formed it is very difficult to get a clean cut and reinstall the end cap. Note that the section of bar that extends past a tower can be used to support loads or attach accessories.
