What is the NAEA conference?

The purpose of the NAEA National Leadership Conference (NLC) is to support and enhance the effectiveness of experienced, new, and aspiring visual arts, design, and media arts education leaders.

What does the National Art Honor Society do?

The National Art Honor Society (NAHS) is an organization founded in 1978 by the National Art Education Association (NAEA). This organization was established specifically for high school students, grades 10-12, for the purpose of inspiring and recognizing those students who have shown an outstanding ability in art.

  1. 90 or higher in Art Classes.
  2. Grade 9-12 with 1 year of credit in Art.
  3. 2 teacher recommendations are necessary.
  4. 8 hours of arts related community service to be accepted.
  5. Must maintain a “B” average in other subject areas.
  6. No ISS or OSS.

What GPA do you need to get into National Honor Society?

Per national guidelines, at a minimum, students must have a cumulative GPA of 85, B, 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or equivalent standard of excellence. (Each school chapter is allowed to require a higher cumulative GPA.)

Another reason you should join NAHS is the way it helps students explore the boundaries of their own creativity. The recycled art project pushes the bounds of creativity by making students use only recycled items to create a meaningful work of art. NAHS also helps the community in a few different ways.

Do you get a cord for National Honor Society?

National Honor Society Graduation Cords, called NHS Honor Cords on their official website, can be either a Blue and Gold Double Cord or a Double Gold Graduation Cord. If students want their cords to include the NHS charm, they can only obtain their cords from the official NHS website.
