Why do my labels smear?

Inkjet inks are water based, which means that if they come into contact with liquids they will run or smudge. Secondly, your printer may be dispersing too much ink or the top coating of your labels may be oversaturated with ink; in either case, the ink isn’t dry properly, which leads to smearing.
