Can you take placement test online?
These tests are not offered online. Accuplacer exams must be completed at an approved testing location, where test-takers are supervised for the duration of the test. Those who need to take an Accuplacer exam must make arrangements to take them at one of the following locations.
How do I take the TSI at Lone Star College?
The TSIA2 Exam
- Apply to Lone Star College before scheduling any assessments.
- Complete the Pre-Assessment Activity (PAA).
- Visit the campus Advising/Counseling Office to determine what subjects are needed and to get a testing ticket.
- Pay for your exam in person or online.

What is on the TSI test?
The TSI exam covers 4 different sections – mathematics, reading, writing, and an essay section. The TSI exam consists primarily of multiple choice questions.
Can you take TSI test online?
The TSI Assessment exam is available online through Examity, a remote proctoring service for students who may not be able to test on campus due to COVID-19, who live out of state, or reside in a different country. Please note there is a list of requirements that need to be completed before taking the TSI exam online.

How long does the TSI Assessment take? The TSI Assessment is not a timed test. The average time to complete all sections of the test is 3–5 hours.

Is 930 a good TSI score?
A score of 930 is pretty low. It places you in the bottom 27th percentile nationally out of the 1.7 million test takers of the SAT entrance exam. Since your score is on the lower end of the range, consider taking a test prep course and re-taking the SAT to see if you can do better.
What is a good TSI score?
You are considered college ready if your score falls within the range of 350 to 390. If your score is 349 or lower, you will be placed in a developmental course or Adult Basic Education course.
