Do baffles affect performance?

Do baffles affect performance?

I would be surprised if you are riding on a stock exhaust and you want to quiet it down. For a quick answer – quiet baffles will not impact performance (horsepower or torque) as much. You could lose a small amount of high end power but nothing significant.

Can you remove baffles on Arrow exhaust?

Simple, use a pair of pliers on the inner lip at the top. Your pulling at the site of friction then. If you use a hook contraption to pull at the bottom of the baffle, you could hook something else and because they are narrower at the rear the baffle may move and twist causing more friction at the top.

Does it hurt to take baffles out of exhaust?

Removing baffles on your motorcycle will not directly harm or damage the engine. However, it may result in the engine running leaner, causing a problem with its performance and complications to the emissions. Removing the baffle does not add any performance benefit or enhancements to the engine.

Is Arrow exhaust loud?

The sound / tone is great, but at times a bit loud for my tastes and riding locations. Not keen to put the db killer in as I feel that the performance / rideability suffers a bit. Based on size, the arrow looks likely to be quieter but have never heard one.

Is taking the baffle out bad?

Removing the baffles will change how the engine runs. It will usually cause the engine to run leaner (less fuel), and a lean mixture burns much hotter that can cause damage. Removing the baffles will also mess up the power curve of the motor. Usually loosing power down low and gaining a slight amount up top.

Does removing baffle increase power?

More horsepower if tuned. If you get a tune after removing baffles, you could gain a minor boost in horsepower – about 2 to 3 horsepower, nothing significant though. If you want power, look into aftermarket exhaust instead.

😆 the only way to hollow out a stock muffler correctly is to cut it in half, hollow it out and weld it back together….
