During the TG Questline, you are told that it is a special door, that actually takes two keys to open it… so even if you had a key, you would still not be able to open it. You never get a key for that door. There is no quest to find, or get a key for that door. There is actually nothing but empty chests in that room.

Try using the wooden plate/platter glitch and Whirlwind Spring in case some kind of glitch with the door’s activation is the problem; you should be able to get close enough and press e to get through. If not, try using the Become Ethereal Shout first or order a follower to enter before you.
